HIKING TRAILS:

Lake Tahoe is about 3 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area and well worth the drive. The winters are wonderful for downhill skiing, cross country skiing or snow shoeing. The summers are perfect for water skiing, hiking or just hanging at the beach. The scenery is some of the best in the world!

If you love hiking with your dog, try Shirley Canyon at the base of Squaw Valley Ski Resort. Pick up a map at the information center & hike up this gorgeous hike with waterfalls, lakes & beautiful scenery. The hike to the top is about 3 hours & then the Gondola ride is $10 to ride down. Or for the beginner hiker, take the Gondola ride up ($18 ride) & hike down (Dogs are allowed!). But don't forget to visit us at the village at the base of the mountain for a doggie ice cream or treat.
